When selecting a base for your building, consider the ground conditions at the installation site. Additionally, the size and weight of your structure will influence your choice between adjustable footpads, ground screws, or a full concrete base.

In most cases, you won’t need planning permission, but if you’re unsure, we recommend checking with your local authority. You can find the Permitted Development Guidelines here.

We offer a variety of adaptable building options, and if you have specific needs, we can design a bespoke solution for you. Our design team is happy to provide tailored options for your project.

The Peckforton Kit comes in two versions: one as a basic framework for you to add your own windows and doors, and the other with pre-supplied windows and doors. The Kit includes all the necessary components, such as SIP panels, splines, C24 timber, roofing materials, fixings, flooring, exterior cladding, and optional windows and doors. Our goal is to deliver Kits within 2–6 weeks, while Shell Buildings typically take around 12 weeks unless customized elements require additional time. A delivery confirmation will be provided upon ordering.

Your building will arrive flat-packed and securely wrapped on a pallet. The delivery method depends on the size of the building, and the haulier will use their equipment—such as small portable forklifts or pallet trucks—to unload your order at your chosen location.

If you have any specific delivery requirements, such as access restrictions, please inform us at the time of ordering, so we can communicate these to the haulier and find the best solution for your needs.

To ensure the longevity of your building, we recommend completing construction to a watertight level as soon as possible or temporarily covering it with a waterproof membrane. While the materials can tolerate brief exposure to the elements, leaving them uncovered for extended periods is not advisable. The Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs) used in the Peckforton feature cutting-edge construction technology, offering excellent insulation and durability. When properly maintained, SIPs buildings can last 40–50 years, keeping warmth in and the cold out without the need for additional insulation.
